CBD For Pets: 4 Myths That You Should Not Believe

Posted by Steven Litteer, Certified Ganjier - Founder & CEO of 4Fathers Organics on Nov 16th 2021

In recent years, owing to its many benefits, CBD has become increasingly popular among pet owners. This has resulted in the extensive availability of an assortment of CBD products for pets, including treats, oils and tinctures, making it easier than ever for people to find products that suit their pets’ specific needs. But at the same time, it has also caused an explosion of misinformation, mostly on social media, as well as the emergence of myths that can prove to be quite harmful in the long run. Here are some myths about CBD for pets that are simply not true:

1.All CBD is the same

If you have shopped for CBD online, it is highly likely that you have come across a wide range of products available at different price points. It can often be confusing, especially to the uninformed. But remember that low prices mostly indicate low quality. A reputable CBD manufacturer will only use the finest ingredients and go the extra mile to make sure that their products are pure and efficient, which can potentially drive up the price.

2.CBD can cause fatigue in your pet

It is a common misunderstanding that confronts a lot of pet owners. They assume that all CBD products make pets tired and lethargic. It is, however, not true because CBD is a non-sedating cannabinoid. In fact, CBD can make your pet feel better, by helping them stay relaxed and sleep better.

3.CBD can make your pet high

No, it cannot. Much like how CBD does not get humans high, it does not cause any euphoric reactions in pets as well. CBD, which is derived from the hemp plant, is not an intoxicant. It contains very little THC – less than 0.3% – which, contrary to CBD, is the cannabinoid responsible for intoxicating effects.

4.CBD can be given only to dogs

CBD can be given to your cats as well. It is not just for dogs. While its efficacy can vary from one animal to another, there is no doubt that it is largely beneficial for domesticated animals. There have been some studies that have proven their positive effect on wild animals as well. We encourage you to do your own research in this regard, you might be amazed by how many pet owners rave about CBD for Pets.
